Serve Our City
God has called us to enter into life in the city. God has not called us to abandon the city but pray for it and seek its good. Check out ways to get involved!
First Sunday Food Offering
The Food Bank at St. John's provides food to those in need. On the first Sunday of each month anyone can donate food at a collection table in the Community Room. Families in need can visit the church office for a bag of food during church office hours Monday through Friday. On a regular basis food is also shared with local feeding ministries around Denver. St. John's makes regular donations and is a church partner for Community Ministry. We welcome your contribution of non-perishable food items. For more information contact the church office at church@sjdenver.org or call 303-733-3777.
Feed the homeless with Christ's Body Ministries
St. John's and Christ Body Ministries have partnered together to serve the homeless. St. John's commitment is a hotdog lunch on a Saturday every other month. The group will buy the food, warm it up at home, bring it to their site and serve it. There will be ministry leaders at both sites to offer helpful advice.
This would be a great way to get a group of 5 or 6 together and volunteer your time in a meaningful way. It could be a family with middle school age kids, a Life Group, a group of college friends, or a group from the office.
There are many other opportunities available at Christ's Body. Please contact Tiffany at tiffany@christsbody.org, or leave a message at 303-860-1272. You can also go to Christ's Body website to find current and future volunteer opportunities.
