Hello!  My name is Mari Koester and I teach kindergarten at St. John's Lutheran School.  I absolutely love teaching at this grade level as I watch students grow in amazing ways throughout the school year!  We always move around, sing, and have a lot of fun while learning.  I understand that it is important to provide many different learning experiences for the many types of learners in my classroom.  Most importantly, we learn how we are God's children and how to treat others as such!

I was born in a small town in North Dakota, but mostly grew up on the western slope of Colorado.  I attended Concordia University in Seward, NE and received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  I also have a music concentration and enjoy conducting the Cherub Choir (kindergarten through second grade) at St. John's.  I am going into my ninth year of teaching and eighth year at St. John's.  I taught second grade in Napa, CA for my first year of teaching.  But then I got engaged to my now husband and decided to move to Denver. :-)  I have been teaching kindergarten ever since and I love it!
