"Follow: Follow Me Into A Changed Life"
by Elder David Kjergaard & Kristi Kjergaard

If your group has more than 7 people, you're encouraged to split into men's and women's groups for "Warm Ups" and "Getting Started." If your group is really large, try same gender groups of 3 or 4.

Warm-Ups (15 min)

  1. Share your high moment and low moment of the week.
  2. Was there a time as a child or adult that you really knew (no kidding) that you needed help?
  3. Can you think of a group you joined or a team where you made the cut that you felt was above your talent or experience level?
  4. Do you have any God moments to share from this past week?
Getting Started (20 min)
Review Mark 2:13-17
  1. What was the significance of “eating” with people in the Middle East?
  2. Who were considered “sinners and tax collectors” in 1st century Israel?
  3. What would that have meant to Jesus reputation that there were “many (sinners and tax collectors) who followed him.”

Going Further (40 min)
  1. Who are the healthy who don’t need a doctor?
  2. Was there any sarcasm in Jesus phrase?
  3. The Kingdom of God is often compared to a big banquet/party where everyone is invited. You only have to accept the invitation and come. What do you imagine the “heavenly banquet” will be like?
  4. Jesus is all about breaking down walls and barriers. There is nothing that can keep sick people away from the doctor, except not knowing you’re sick. How do you keep from thinking you’re healthy and no longer need the Great Physician?
  5. Is there a group that’s hard for you to extend the invitation?
  6. Are there people you think are too sick?
  7. Does our church have any pharisaical tendencies? Do you?
Bonus Question: Can you spell pharisaical?  : )

Prayers (15 min)
  1. In your prayers this week thank God for the unconditional and conditional promises he has made to you. Also, ask God to forgive any broken promises you have made, and forgive those who have broken promises made to you.
    1. Give everyone a chance to pray. Click herefor creative ideas on how to pray as a group.

Optional Worship Song (5 min)

  1. If you'd like, you can sing a worship song as a group. Don't have a musician? Sing along to a lyric video:
