2. Share your low moment of the week.

3. What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial?

4. Do you have any God moments to share from this past week?

Note for Leaders: You don't have to do every question listed. Choose the best ones for your group!

  • What did you think of the "Football Sunday" Video that we showed on Sunday?
  • In the 9th century BC, wicked kings often ruled Israel. God would send prophets to deliver his warnings - as He did when He sent the prophet Elijah to preach against king Ahab. This didn't make Elijah very popular and he became depressed. Read 1 Kings 19:1-18. Consult if needed.
    • Why did God ask Elijah the same thing multiple times?
    • Was Elijah seeing the situation clearly?
    • Was Elijah truly alone amongst the faithful?
    • What sort of theology did Elijah have to believe in that moment in order to think that he needed to flee to a cave in the wilderness?
    • How did Elijah need to grow in faith?
  • When we get depressed, our thoughts begin to spiral to the extreme. We think that the worst is inevitable and that we're alone in it. In those situations, how does what we think we need differ from what we actually need?
  • Usually in these situations we think of what we've done and our shortcomings. What we really need is to think about what Jesus has done and his overcomings. What are some practical ways for us to keep our focus on Jesus? How does that help us in tough times? How does that keep our mind, theology and outlook healthy?

      Optional Worship Song

      • If you'd like, you can sing one of the following songs as a group. Be sure to turn up the volume so that less confident singers feel comfortable.  (STOP SONG AT 4:40)

        • In your prayers for this week, please consider the following!
